How to use Filesvo

  1. Select or drop a .docx file.
  2. Choose the page size (A4 or Letter) and the body font size.
  3. Click Convert to PDF and download the result.

What carries over from Word

Filesvo reads the .docx package directly — a .docx is a set of XML files in a ZIP — and rebuilds the document: heading levels, bold and italic runs, monospaced code, bulleted and numbered lists with their real numbering, block quotes, tables with borders, and the pictures stored inside the file. It then lays that out into a paginated PDF.

Because the PDF is re-laid out rather than printed by Word itself, line breaks and page breaks will not match Word exactly, and Word's own fonts, themes, headers, footers and section layouts are not reproduced. For contracts, CVs, reports and letters the result reads the way it should; for heavily designed documents, exporting from Word itself will stay closer to the original.

Private by design

Your files are processed directly in your browser using open-source PDF engines that run in your browser and are not uploaded to Filesvo. Nothing is stored on our servers, because nothing ever reaches them.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert an old .doc file?
No. The legacy binary .doc format is a different thing entirely. Open it in Word or LibreOffice and re-save it as .docx first, then convert.
Will the pages break in the same places as Word?
Not necessarily. The document is re-laid out with its own line wrapping and pagination, so breaks can land differently — the content and its order stay correct.
Are pictures in my document included?
Yes. PNG and JPEG pictures stored in the .docx are embedded in the PDF; other picture types are converted first so they can be embedded too.
Is my document uploaded to a server?
No. The .docx is unpacked and the PDF is built entirely in your browser. The file never leaves your device.
