How PDF to Word conversion works here
A PDF stores text as positioned glyphs, not as headings, paragraphs and lists. Filesvo reads every character together with its font, size and position, then groups them back into lines, paragraphs and columns. Text that is larger or bolder than the body becomes a heading; lines that begin with a bullet or a number become list items; text laid out in aligned columns becomes a table.
That structure is inferred, not stored, so the result is a faithful rebuild rather than a pixel-perfect copy. Expect the words, the reading order and the emphasis to survive; expect exact page breaks, multi-column magazine layouts and decorative positioning to be simplified into a clean, editable document.
Private by design
Your files are processed directly in your browser using open-source PDF engines that run in your browser and are not uploaded to Filesvo. Nothing is stored on our servers, because nothing ever reaches them.
Frequently asked questions
- Will the Word file look exactly like the PDF?
- No, and no converter can promise that honestly. The text, headings, lists, tables and emphasis are carried over, but the document is re-laid out for Word, so line breaks, page breaks and precise positioning will differ.
- Does it work on scanned PDFs?
- No. A scanned page is a picture with no text layer, so there is nothing to convert — you would need OCR software, which Filesvo does not run. If the tool reports no text, the PDF is a scan.
- Are images from the PDF included?
- Not yet. This conversion carries text and structure; pictures embedded in the PDF are left out. If you need the pictures, use PDF to JPG alongside it.
- Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
- No. The PDF is read by an open-source PDF engine and the .docx is written, both inside your browser. The file never leaves your device.
