View & Edit PDF Metadata
Every PDF carries document properties — title, author, subject, keywords and the software that made it. This tool shows them the moment you add a file, lets you edit or clear each one, and gives you an updated copy. Nothing is uploaded to Filesvo.

How to use Filesvo
- Select or drop a PDF file — its current metadata fills the form automatically.
- Edit any field: title, author, subject, keywords, creator or producer. Clear a field to remove that value.
- Click Save metadata and download the updated PDF.
What PDF metadata is
These fields live in the PDF's document information dictionary — the properties dialog of most PDF viewers reads them from there. They matter more than they look: search engines and document management systems index the title and keywords, and the author field often reveals more than intended when a file is shared.
This tool edits the document information dictionary. Some PDFs also carry a second, XMP metadata block written by tools like Adobe products; if yours does, viewers that prefer XMP may still show the old values there. The page content itself is untouched — only the properties change.
Private by design
Your files are processed directly in your browser using open-source PDF engines that run in your browser and are not uploaded to Filesvo. Nothing is stored on our servers, because nothing ever reaches them.
Frequently asked questions
- Does editing metadata change the document's pages?
- No. Pages, text and images are copied through untouched — only the document properties change.
- Can I remove the author's name from a PDF?
- Yes — clear the author field and save. Note that names can also appear in the PDF's XMP metadata block (if present) and in the page content itself, which this tool does not alter.
- Why did the modified date change?
- Saving sets the modification date to the moment you saved, which is the honest value — the file genuinely was modified then. The creation date is preserved as it was.
- Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
- No. Reading and writing metadata happens entirely in your browser using an open-source PDF library. Your document never leaves your device.
