WebP to JPG Converter

Images saved from the web often arrive as WebP files that older software, upload forms and photo services refuse to accept. This tool converts them to standard JPG on your device — nothing is uploaded.

or drag and drop WebP files here — you can also paste from the clipboard

Processed on your device — files are never uploaded to Filesvo.

How to use Filesvo

  1. Select or drop your WebP files, or paste an image from your clipboard.
  2. Pick the JPG quality; for WebP images with transparency, choose a background color.
  3. Click Convert to JPG, then download the results.

WebP vs JPG

WebP is a modern format developed for the web. It compresses images more efficiently than JPG and supports transparency, which is why many websites serve their images as WebP.

JPG remains the most universally supported photo format. Almost every application, device, government portal and upload form accepts it. Converting WebP to JPG trades a little file size for maximum compatibility.

Transparency handling

Some WebP files contain transparency, which JPG cannot store. Transparent areas are flattened against your chosen background color (white by default).

Private by design

Your files are processed directly in your browser using the browser's built-in image APIs and are not uploaded to Filesvo. Nothing is stored on our servers, because nothing ever reaches them.

Frequently asked questions

Why do downloaded images end up as WebP?
Many websites serve WebP because it makes pages load faster. When you save such an image, your browser keeps it in WebP format — which is fine for the web, but not always accepted elsewhere. Converting to JPG solves that.
Does the conversion lose quality?
Both WebP and JPG are usually lossy, so re-encoding involves a small additional loss. At the default 90% quality it is generally invisible. Filesvo shows you the exact output size so you can judge the trade-off.
Are animated WebP files supported?
Only the first frame of an animated WebP is converted, because JPG is a still-image format. The animation itself cannot be preserved in a JPG.
Is this tool private?
Yes. Decoding and encoding happen inside your browser. Filesvo never receives, stores or sees your files.
