Convert JSON to CSV

Paste a JSON array of objects and get a CSV file with a header row built from the objects' keys. Arrays of arrays and single objects work too. Fields containing the delimiter, quotes or line breaks are quoted correctly, so the output opens cleanly in Excel and Google Sheets. Nothing is uploaded to Filesvo.

How to use Filesvo

  1. Paste your JSON into the box, or upload a .json file.
  2. Pick the delimiter for the output — comma is the default.
  3. Click Convert to CSV, then copy the result or download it as a .csv file.

How JSON becomes rows and columns

For an array of objects, the header is the union of every object's keys in first-seen order — objects may have different keys, and missing values become empty cells. An array of arrays converts directly to rows with no header, and a single object becomes a one-row CSV.

Nested objects and arrays inside a field can't be flattened into a single cell without inventing a convention, so they are written as their JSON text — honest and reversible. Rows end in CRLF and special characters are escaped by the standard double-quote rules, which is what spreadsheet applications expect.

Private by design

Your files are processed directly in your browser using open-source engines that run in your browser and are not uploaded to Filesvo. Nothing is stored on our servers, because nothing ever reaches them.

Frequently asked questions

What JSON shapes can be converted?
An array of objects (the common case — keys become the header), an array of arrays (rows as-is, no header), or a single object (one row). Other shapes — a bare string, a number, deeply mixed arrays — have no natural CSV form, and the tool says so instead of guessing.
What happens to nested objects?
They are written into the cell as JSON text, for example {"city":"Chennai"}. Flattening nested data into columns requires decisions only you can make, so the tool keeps the data intact rather than silently restructuring it.
Why do some cells have quotes around them?
Any value containing the delimiter, a double quote or a line break must be quoted for the CSV to parse correctly — that is part of the CSV standard, and spreadsheets remove the quotes on import.
Is my data uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser — your data never leaves your device.
