Favicon Generator

Drop in a logo and get every icon file a modern website needs: a multi-size favicon.ico for browser tabs, an apple-touch-icon for iOS home screens, and 192/512 px PNGs for Android and web app manifests — plus the exact HTML tags to paste into your site's head.

or drag and drop a square PNG/JPG/WebP logo here — 512 px or larger works best

Favicon sizes — 32×32 is one frame inside one of the files — here is the whole set, and why.

How to use Filesvo

  1. Select or drop a square logo image — 512 px or larger gives the sharpest set.
  2. Filesvo generates all seven files immediately: favicon.ico (16/32/48), favicon-16x16.png, favicon-32x32.png, favicon-48x48.png, apple-touch-icon.png (180), icon-192.png and icon-512.png.
  3. Download the files, put them in your site's root folder, and copy the provided HTML into your <head>.

Why so many sizes

Browsers, operating systems and devices each look for their own icon: desktop tabs use the .ico or the 16/32 px PNGs, iOS uses the 180 px apple-touch-icon when a page is added to the home screen, and Android and installable web apps use the 192 and 512 px PNGs declared in a manifest. Providing the full set means your icon looks right everywhere instead of being blurrily scaled from one size.

The favicon.ico that Filesvo builds is a genuine multi-image container holding 16, 32 and 48 px versions, so each context picks its exact size. Non-square images are center-cropped to a square first — icons are square by definition — and the tool tells you when that happened.

Private by design

Your files are processed directly in your browser using the browser's built-in image APIs and are not uploaded to Filesvo. Nothing is stored on our servers, because nothing ever reaches them.

Frequently asked questions

What image should I start from?
A square PNG of your logo at 512 px or larger, ideally with a transparent background. Filesvo will center-crop a non-square image and will warn you when a small source forces upscaling of the larger icons.
Do I still need a favicon.ico in 2026?
It remains the most compatible option: old browsers, bookmark systems and various crawlers still request /favicon.ico directly. Since the generated file is small and the HTML covers modern PNG icons too, shipping both costs nothing and covers everything.
Where do I put the files?
Upload all seven files to your site's root folder (so they're reachable at /favicon.ico, /icon-512.png and so on), then paste the provided link tags into the <head> of your pages. The icon-192 and icon-512 files are also what a web app manifest references.
Is my logo uploaded?
No. Every size, including the .ico container itself, is generated in your browser. Your logo never leaves your device.
