Frequently asked questions
- Do my PDFs get uploaded to a server?
- No. The PDF tools run open-source PDF engines compiled to run inside your browser. The document is opened, edited and saved on your own machine, and no copy is transmitted anywhere.
- Does merging or splitting reduce quality?
- No. Merge, split, extract, delete and reorder copy the original page objects into the new document rather than re-rendering them, so text stays selectable and images keep their original data.
- Can Filesvo open a password-protected PDF?
- Only if you know the password. Unlock PDF removes the protection after you supply the correct password — it does not guess, crack or bypass one, and it will tell you plainly when the password is wrong.
- How large a PDF can I work with?
- Up to 100 MB per file. Beyond that the browser tab, not Filesvo, becomes the limit — everything is held in the memory your browser gives that one page.
