EXIF Orientation

Frequently asked questions
- Are my images uploaded anywhere?
- No. Every image tool here decodes your file with the browser's own image APIs, draws it to a canvas and re-encodes it in the tab you already have open. Nothing is sent to Filesvo, so there is nothing for us to store, log or delete.
- What happens to transparency when I convert a PNG to JPG?
- JPG cannot store transparency at all. Rather than let those areas turn black, Filesvo fills them first with a background colour you choose — white by default — so the result looks like what you expected.
- Is there a limit on image size?
- Files are capped at 100 MB, and images are capped at 64 megapixels once decoded. The pixel cap is a safety limit: a small file can expand into gigabytes of canvas memory and take the tab down with it.
- Why does a converted file sometimes come out larger?
- Because the formats store pixels differently — a photo saved as PNG is usually far bigger than the same photo as JPG. Filesvo shows the real before and after size for every file instead of claiming a saving it did not make.
