Filesvo

HTML to PDF Converter

Turn a saved web page or an exported HTML document into a clean, paginated PDF. Headings, paragraphs, lists, quotes, code blocks and tables are laid out as a document — and nothing about the page is sent anywhere.

How to use Filesvo

  1. Select or drop a .html file.
  2. Choose the page size (A4 or Letter) and the body font size.
  3. Click Convert to PDF and download the result.

How the HTML is turned into pages

The file is parsed into a document tree and read for meaning rather than appearance: h1–h6 become headings, ul and ol become bulleted and numbered lists that keep their nesting and their start number, blockquote becomes an indented quote, pre and code become monospaced blocks, and table becomes a bordered table. Scripts, styles, forms, videos and embedded frames are skipped — a PDF cannot run or show them.

This is a document conversion, not a screenshot: the page's own CSS is not applied, so colours, columns and custom fonts are replaced by a clean, readable layout. Pictures written into the page as data: URIs are embedded, while pictures hosted on another server are deliberately not downloaded — fetching them would send information about your document to that server, which would break the promise that nothing leaves your device. Those appear as their alt text instead.

Private by design

Your files are processed directly in your browser using open-source PDF engines that run in your browser and are not uploaded to Filesvo. Nothing is stored on our servers, because nothing ever reaches them.

Frequently asked questions

Will the PDF look like the page in my browser?
No. The page's CSS is not applied — the content is re-laid out as a clean document. If you need a pixel-perfect visual copy, use your browser's own Print to PDF.
Why are some images missing?
Images hosted on another server are never downloaded, because that request would tell the server about your document. Only images embedded in the file itself as data: URIs are included; the rest are shown as their alt text.
Can I convert a live URL?
No. This tool converts a file you already have. Save the page from your browser first, then convert the saved .html file.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. The HTML is parsed and the PDF is built entirely in your browser, and no request is made for anything the page references.
