How to use Filesvo

  1. Select or drop one or more PNG files, or paste an image from your clipboard.
  2. Choose the JPG quality and, for transparent PNGs, a background color.
  3. Click Convert to JPG and download each result or all files at once.

PNG vs JPG

PNG is a lossless format: it preserves every pixel exactly and supports transparency, which makes it ideal for screenshots, logos and graphics — but the files can be large, especially for photos.

JPG uses lossy compression tuned for photographic images. A photo saved as JPG is usually several times smaller than the same image as PNG, at a quality level most people cannot distinguish. JPG is the safer choice when you need small files for email, forms, uploads or the web and don't need transparency.

Transparency handling

JPG does not support transparency. If your PNG has transparent areas, Filesvo flattens them against the background color you choose (white by default) before encoding.

Private by design

Your files are processed directly in your browser using the browser's built-in image APIs and are not uploaded to Filesvo. Nothing is stored on our servers, because nothing ever reaches them.

Frequently asked questions

Does converting PNG to JPG reduce quality?
JPG is a lossy format, so some detail is discarded during encoding. At the default quality setting (90%) the difference is rarely visible for photos. Graphics with sharp edges and flat colors, such as screenshots of text, can show slight artifacts — for those, PNG is often the better format.
What happens to transparent areas?
JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent pixels are filled with the background color you select before conversion. The default is white.
Are my PNG files uploaded to a server?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser using built-in image APIs. Your files never leave your device.
Can I convert several PNG files at once?
Yes. Select as many PNG files as you need — each file is converted independently, and one failed file will not stop the rest. You can download results individually or all together.
