Add Page Numbers to a PDF
Number the pages of any PDF. Pick a corner or center position, a format like 1, Page 1 or 1 of 10, the font size, and the number to start from — then download the numbered copy. Nothing is uploaded to Filesvo.

How to use Filesvo
- Select or drop a PDF file — its page count appears once loaded.
- Choose the position, number format, font size and starting number.
- Click Add page numbers and download the numbered PDF.
How page numbering works
Each number is drawn as real text in the standard Helvetica font on top of the existing page content, about a centimeter from the page edge. Because it is text — not an image — it stays sharp at any zoom level and adds almost nothing to the file size.
Pages that are stored rotated (a landscape scan in a portrait file, for example) are handled correctly: the number is placed and oriented the way you see the page in your viewer, not the way it happens to be stored.
Private by design
Your files are processed directly in your browser using open-source PDF engines that run in your browser and are not uploaded to Filesvo. Nothing is stored on our servers, because nothing ever reaches them.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I start numbering from something other than 1?
- Yes. Set the starting number — useful when a document is part of a larger set, so its first page can be, say, 47.
- Will the numbers cover my content?
- The numbers sit in the page margin, about a centimeter from the edge. If your document prints to the very edge of the page, pick the position — top or bottom, left, center or right — that overlaps least.
- What do the format options look like?
- Three styles: a bare number (1, 2, 3), the word Page before it (Page 1), or the number with the total (1 of 10). The total always reflects the last number in the document.
- Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
- No. Numbering runs entirely in your browser using an open-source PDF library. Your document never leaves your device.
