TIFF to JPG Converter
TIFF is the format scanners, cameras and print shops produce, and no web browser can display it. Filesvo reads the TIFF itself and saves a JPG that opens anywhere — without the file leaving your device.

About TIFF and JPG
TIFF was designed for scanning and print production, so it keeps every pixel at full quality and supports layers, multiple pages and 16-bit colour. That makes it excellent for archiving and useless for sharing: browsers cannot display it, most web forms reject it, and a single scanned page can run to tens of megabytes.
JPG is the opposite trade: a small, universally readable file that discards detail your eye is unlikely to miss. For a scan you want to email, upload or publish, JPG is almost always the right target. If the TIFF is a line drawing, a logo or text on a flat background, convert it to PNG instead — sharp edges are exactly what JPG compression blurs.
Filesvo decodes TIFF in the browser rather than sending it to a server. Uncompressed, LZW, Deflate, PackBits and JPEG-compressed TIFFs are supported, in either byte order, along with grayscale, palette, RGB and transparent images at 1, 2, 4, 8 or 16 bits per channel.
Private by design
Your files are processed directly in your browser using the browser's built-in image APIs and are not uploaded to Filesvo. Nothing is stored on our servers, because nothing ever reaches them.
Frequently asked questions
- Why can't my browser open a TIFF already?
- No mainstream browser has ever included a TIFF decoder — the format is large, has dozens of optional variants, and was never intended for the web. Filesvo reads the file directly instead, so you don't need desktop software.
- Which TIFF variants work?
- Uncompressed, LZW, Deflate, PackBits and JPEG-compressed TIFFs, big-endian or little-endian, in grayscale, palette, RGB or RGBA, with strips or tiles. CCITT fax compression, old-style JPEG, floating-point samples and separate colour planes are not supported — Filesvo tells you which one it found rather than producing a broken image.
- What happens to a multi-page TIFF?
- The first page is converted. Multi-page TIFFs are usually fax or scan bundles; if you need every page, split the file with your scanning software first.
- Are my files uploaded?
- No. The TIFF is decoded and re-encoded entirely in your browser. Filesvo never receives it.
